Clickers are devices made to increase student engagement and gain immediate feedback in the classroom. The pages on the left provide resources and materials for instructors on getting started with clickers. Instructors new to clickers should begin with Getting Started.
Turning Technologies, Illinois State’s classroom clickers provider, introduced important changes and a new student subscription model for the Fall 2016 semester. This requires instructors who are using clickers to adopt the TurningPoint Cloud software. Continuing to use software installed before Fall 2016 is not an option.
Review the What’s New for Fall 2016 page to see how this change will impact both instructors and students. Instructors can also find a handout to share with their students on the For Your Students page and suggested language for their syllabus.
CTLT offers workshops for both current clickers users and those who wish to adopt clickers for the first time. Instructors can also email CTLT@IllinoisState.edu or call (309) 438-2542 to arrange a one-on-one consultation.
In order to use clickers in your classroom, instructors need to request a receiver and software installed in that classroom. Please complete the Request Form as early as possible to have TurningPoint installed in your classroom.
