Begins Thursday, May 14 • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Design Your Course is geared for faculty in their first three years at Illinois State University. This workshop will help you develop effective learning outcomes, engaging learning activities, assessments which properly align to your assignments, and a welcoming syllabus... all in time for the start of the academic year.
This workshop will be experienced entirely online, with one synchronous meeting to kick it off.
It begins with an all-day Zoom session on May 14 and concludes on July 31 with an online video showcasing the course you developed. In between the Zoom activity and the video showcase, you will participate in online instruction through ReggieNet with a cohort of your peers. During May and June, you will learn how to fully develop course materials, and you'll spend July working on your course.
Please note: Depending upon experience, you can expect to spend anywhere from 6 to 13 hours each week participating in Design Your Course. A $500 stipend is available to eligible participants who complete the program. This workshop is limited to 10 participants.
Faculty may participate in only one design cohort (AIM Online, Civic Engagement, Design Your Course, or Diversity) per Summer Institute.
