Faculty Prep Week - Jan. 7 – 11

No registration is necessary for these special walk-in workshops.

Clickers: Introduction

  • Friday, January 11 • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Clickers are audience response devices which allow instructors to poll a face-to-face class in real time, displaying the results, and engaging students in their learning. Responses can be recorded and incorporated into grades in ReggieNet. You will explore the latest, cloud-based polling system from TurningPoint, the official vendor for campus. Discover how to integrate polls into your PowerPoint presentations to create interactive lectures and keep your students engaged in the course material. These special Faculty Prep Week sessions do not require registration. Simply walk in, sit down at a computer, and start learning! We recommend that you plan to arrive a few minutes early. Parking is limited around our building, so please consider walking.

Spring Short Courses

Short Courses are open to full- and part-time faculty, A/P, and civil service staff members. Graduate students may be automatically put on a wait list. To see what courses you've already signed up for, log in to the My.IllinoisState.edu Event Registration System.

Get to Know Clickers

Monday, March 25 • 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Clickers are audience response devices which allow instructors to poll an audience in real time. This special one-hour session puts a clicker in your hand, so you can experience this technology’s potential from a student’s perspective. This brief session is designed to help you decide if you want to use clickers in your course. Those who decide to adopt clickers can then take the more comprehensive Clickers: Introduction workshop. Registration is required.
