iPad® Apps Exploration Program

What is it?

Investigate different apps that you could use in your teaching with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology’s iPad® Apps Exploration Program. This program allows you to request apps for the Apple iPad, at no cost, so you can try them out. CTLT will purchase iPad apps (under a certain dollar amount), and then loan them to you.

How it works

Contact CTLT’s Mayuko Nakamura to request a specific app. Once your request is approved, the apps will be shared with you through your Apple ID. The apps will automatically be retrieved from your iPad after 8 weeks.

This program is only available for those Apple mobile devices. If you don’t own an iPad, CTLT can loan an iPad to you for the duration of the exploration. We have limited supply of iPads, so please check the availability by calling 438-2542 at least one business day in advance.

Funding & Reporting

This program is free to all faculty members at Illinois State University. We ask that faculty members who participate in this program submit a report reviewing these apps. This report will help other faculty who are interested in using new apps.

Getting help

Not sure what apps to request? CTLT can schedule a consultation to see what apps may be the most useful for your courses. Please contact Mayuko Nakamura to request an app or for more information. This is an ongoing program at CTLT. You can start this program at any time throughout a year (including summer). If you’re not sure where to start with iPad, we are happy to provide individual consultations.
