Equipment Checkout

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology has the following equipment available for faculty to use for their instructional and research needs. Equipment is not to be checked out by faculty for personal use, nor may faculty check out equipment on behalf of students.

Flip cameras 3 business days
Bamboo Tablets 7 business days
LiveScribe SmartPens 7 business days
iPad 7 business days

To reserve equipment, please call 438-2542 at least one business day prior to checkout.

Checkouts may be renewed up to 3 times in a semester or summer. If items are not returned by the due date, either the individual or the department will be charged the replacement value. In addition, the individual will not be eligible for compensation from CTLT (workshop stipends, grant funds, loan approval, etc.) until the item have been returned or replaced. If you wish to check out equipment for longer than the maximum checkout period, you will need to have prior approval from the director of CTLT.

Clickers

Please do the following 7-10 days before you check out clickers.

Flip Cameras

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that the camera is fully charged. Flip cameras can easily be charged via a USB port.
  • Images and video on the camera will need to be downloaded before the camera is returned. CTLT is not responsible for images left on the camera. There are computer stations in CTLT’s Multimedia lab where images can be saved to your flash drive or to the University Datastore site.
  • A short training session is available at the time of checkout for anyone unfamiliar with Flip cameras.

Bamboo Tablet and LiveScribe SmartPens

  • A short training session is available before the checkout for anyone unfamiliar with these tools. When reserving equipment, please let us know that you need training so we can set an appointment with a consultant for you.

iPad

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that the iPad is fully charged. An iPad can easily be charged via a USB port.
  • Any files on the iPad will need to be downloaded before it is returned. CTLT is not responsible for the files left on the device. Please try to save any files in the cloud space so they would not have to be retrieved from the iPad.
  • CTLT is not responsible for app purchase.
  • Apps installed by clients will be removed once the iPad is returned.
  • A short training session is available at the time of checkout for anyone unfamiliar with an iPad. When reserving an iPad, please let us know that you need training so we can set an appointment with a consultant for you.
